In a move that has stirred the UK’s political landscape, Christian MP Danny Kruger has crossed party lines to join Nigel Farage’s Reform party. This significant shift was unveiled during a press conference in London on Monday morning.

Kruger, who formerly represented East Wiltshire under the Conservative banner, has been entrusted with the task of readying the Reform party for potential governance.

During his announcement, Kruger criticized the Conservative Party, labeling its time in power as a “failure” and declaring it “over” as a national entity and as the primary counter to left-leaning parties.

He elaborated that the Conservatives had not absorbed the lessons from their crushing electoral defeat last year, emphasizing that mere centrism would not suffice, and substantial change was imperative.

According to Kruger, the Conservative leadership had overseen “bigger government, social decline, low wages, high taxes and less of what ordinary people actually wanted.”

He painted a grim picture of the country’s situation, stating, “our country is entering the most profound set of crises in my lifetime, under a government even worse, far worse, than the one it replaced.”

Kruger pinpointed several crises plaguing the nation, including economic struggles, border issues, societal unrest, military challenges, and difficulties faced by young people.

Despite acknowledging Britain’s allure for migrants, he noted the irony that many entrepreneurs and young people are choosing to leave, concluding, “Britain is not broken, but it is badly damaged. And so, in this crisis, something has got to give.”

He argued that disillusioned voters have turned away from the Conservative Party, and predicted that more would follow, abandoning a party that has failed to meet their expectations.

While dismissing the future of the Conservative Party, Kruger maintained that conservatism itself holds the key to resolving national issues.

He expressed a somber yet hopeful perspective, stating, “The Conservative party is over, over as a national party, over as the principal opposition to the left. But I am not despondent, because conservatism is not over. It’s never been needed more and actually never been more vibrant because the failure of the Conservative party has created space for an alternative.”

Even the potential leadership of Robert Jenrick, Kruger suggested, would not suffice to halt the Conservative Party’s decline in the face of Reform’s ascent.

Nigel Farage added his voice, asserting that the Conservatives have “zero chance” of winning the next election, forecasting their collapse as a national force post-elections.

Kruger, a devout Christian, recently advocated for a Christian resurgence in UK politics, asserting, “Our democracy is founded on Christian faith,” while also calling for the removal of wokeism from public institutions.
