A Sunday evening near a residential pool in Fort Worth, Texas, could have ended in unspeakable tragedy if not for what one family is calling divine intervention. Surveillance footage captured the heart-stopping moment when a speeding sports car crashed through a backyard fence mere inches from where three small children were playing.
The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. along Heritage Trace Parkway in north Fort Worth. A 22-year-old driver operating a Chevy Camaro lost control of the vehicle while traveling at excessive speed, sending the car careening into a residential property’s backyard area.
Seconds from disaster
At the time of impact, five-year-old twin boys were swimming in the family pool while their two-year-old sister walked near the fence perimeter. Security camera footage shows the toddler moving away from the fence line just moments before the vehicle tore through it, sending concrete fragments and fence debris flying across the yard.
The narrow margin between safety and catastrophe was measured in mere seconds, with the timing of the child’s movement proving critical to avoiding serious injury or worse.
Family response and aftermath
The children’s parents immediately rushed outside after hearing the crash to check on their kids. Upon finding all three unharmed, they described the outcome as an “act of God” given the proximity of the collision to where the children had been standing and playing.
The father then turned his attention to the crashed vehicle, where he discovered a passenger suffering from a serious head laceration that required emergency medical attention. Fort Worth police responded to the scene and subsequently issued the driver a citation for reckless driving.
