In a significant development for one of the UK’s most anticipated Christian initiatives, the Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer has selected Dr Ian Bullock as its new Chief Executive Officer to guide the project forward.
Dr Bullock, previously the Chief Executive of the Royal College of Physicians, brings a wealth of leadership experience to this visionary project.
His career includes senior positions with various national and international health organizations, such as the European Resuscitation Council and the Health Foundation.
At the Royal College of Physicians, he managed an organization with 350 staff members and a membership of 40,000.
Planned to be located in Coleshill, near Birmingham, the Eternal Wall will stand 160 feet tall, incorporating a million bricks, each symbolizing a recorded answered prayer.
Conceptualized over 17 years, the project aspires to be a perpetual emblem of hope, faith, and answered prayers.
Dr Bullock, a devoted Christian, views his new position as a vocational calling rather than just a career opportunity.
“I’m so excited to have joined this team and am honoured to be supporting Richard and playing a part in making hope visible across the UK,” he expressed.
“Eternal Wall will tell stories of how great our God is and I cannot wait to drive this forward as we enter a very exciting few months.”
Dr Bullock will oversee the daily operations of the landmark project, while founder Richard Gamble focuses on global engagement, fundraising, and collecting 200,000 prayer testimonials for the monument’s digital archive.
Gamble has been actively touring the UK and USA to promote the project’s mission and attract supporters.
“It feels like we have turned a corner in recent months and the addition of Ian will only help us get over the finish line quicker,” Gamble stated.
The design and construction teams are finalizing cost estimates and coordinating logistics. An official update detailing the commencement date and future phases is expected soon.
“Our aim is to deliver a world class landmark that enables us to inspire the nations to pray,” Gamble added.
“Ian’s appointment is in keeping with those aspirations and a critical building block as we prepare for significant news.”
As the project nears its groundbreaking phase, Gamble expressed appreciation for the ongoing support and prayers from global supporters: “I am grateful to every supporter who has got us this far and I’d urge those passionate about God moving to keep us in their prayers during the next few months.”
