YouVersion, the world-renowned Bible app, has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing one billion downloads globally. To commemorate this achievement, the app is inviting Christians worldwide to participate in a month-long celebration called Global Bible Month.

A key component of this celebration is the 30-Day Bible Challenge, which aims to motivate believers to engage with God’s Word daily.

The festivities will peak on November 17 with a large-scale event at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, featuring worship sessions, personal testimonies, and speeches from Christian leaders worldwide.

In the United Kingdom, YouVersion has been installed over 17.7 million times, supported by a network of more than 700 ministry partners, such as Bible Society, Alpha, 24-7 Prayer, and Tearfund.

Churches and Christian organizations have successfully leveraged YouVersion’s tools to enhance Scripture engagement both in physical gatherings and online platforms.

Stephen Foster, Rector of St Aldate’s Church in Oxford, remarked, “Something remarkable is happening in the UK as we’re seeing a resurgence in people hungry for God’s Word.

“There’s surprising growth in church attendance, particularly among young people, and more and more are engaging with Scripture regularly. It’s exciting to witness communities across Britain rediscovering the transformative power of Scripture in their daily lives.”

YouVersion’s founder and CEO Bobby Gruenewald echoed these sentiments, noting, “We’re seeing incredible global momentum around Bible engagement, and it’s humbling to be part of what’s happening.

“Every day we hear stories of lives being changed—someone overcoming addiction, marriages being restored, people encountering Scripture in their own language for the first time.

“This milestone is really a celebration of the Bible itself and what happens when people around the world work together to get it into the hands and hearts of more people.”

The Global Bible Month initiative, in collaboration with Christian platforms such as Glorify, Hallow, and The Bible Project, aims to rekindle a passion for Scripture.

Participants in the 30-Day Bible Challenge are invited to spend a portion of each day reading or listening to the Bible, whether through YouVersion, a traditional printed Bible, or an alternative digital tool.

Mr. Gruenewald further emphasized, “In a world where everyone’s searching for what’s real and true, we’ve seen one thing consistently transform lives, and that’s daily engagement with Scripture.

“That’s why this November, we’re simply inviting people to try something different: read the Bible for 30 days and see what happens. You might just find that the answer you were searching for has been there all along.”

The global celebration will include performances by Phil Wickham, Lauren Daigle, and Brooke Ligertwood, along with speeches from Craig Groeschel, Christine Caine, and other notable figures.

As a collective, they will reflect on the enduring influence of the Bible in today’s increasingly digital age.
