The Confessing Anglican Church (CAC), a spiritual body established in 2019 with historical ties to early British Christianity, is making headlines with its passionate call for a return to religious roots. Spearheading this movement is Ceirion H Dewar, a missionary bishop within the CAC, who is urging the citizens of Britain to embrace Christian values once more.

In a recent public message, Bishop Dewar appealed directly to King Charles III. He implored the monarch to halt what he described as the “erosion of Britain’s Christian inheritance.”

Amidst ongoing debates, King Charles has faced criticism for acknowledging Ramadan with a special message while remaining silent during Easter celebrations. Bishop Dewar, in his most recent communication, pointed out that his earlier appeals to the King had gone unanswered.

Bishop Dewar’s message to the British populace emphasized the past centrality of Christianity in national life, highlighting its role as a foundational truth for societal institutions, morals, and customs. He noted a shift in morality, suggesting it is being replaced by modern ideologies.

Expressing concern, he stated, “The moral language that once shaped them [our institutions] is being systematically redefined. We see it within parts of the Church itself, where the call to holiness is softened, and the demands of the age are too often given greater weight than the Word of God. And we are told that this is progress. It is not progress. It is decline!”

The bishop argued that adapting to contemporary societal whims has led to a loss of eternal truths, resulting in a nation that feels unfamiliar to many.

He reassured those sensing a deeper loss beyond politics that they are not alone in their feelings, stating, “If you have looked at this nation and felt that something is wrong, you are not mistaken. If you have sensed that we are losing something deeper than politics, you are not imagining it.”

To counteract this perceived decline, Bishop Dewar encouraged the public to commit to repentance and truth. He urged individuals to uphold core Christian values in their homes, churches, communities, and public discourse.

“Stand in your homes, and teach your children what is true, even when the world says otherwise. Stand in your churches, and demand the Gospel in its fullness, not a diluted echo of the age. Stand in your communities, and live with a conviction that cannot be reshaped by passing opinion. Stand in the public square, and speak without fear,” he advocated.

In closing his heartfelt letter, Bishop Dewar offered a prayer, asking for divine intervention to inspire repentance and renew the British spirit.
