The rally addresses reports of thousands of veterans losing federal jobs alongside concerns about Veterans Affairs service reductions. Organizers seek to defend veteran federal employment, oppose VA privatization initiatives, and ensure political accountability on veteran issues.
Choosing the D-Day anniversary date, organizers invoke the tradition of veteran advocacy dating back to the 1932 Bonus Army march and subsequent campaigns for expanded benefits. The demonstration operates on grassroots funding from individual supporters.
