“Do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”
—Luke 12:11-12

The thought of sharing our faith can sometimes feel intimidating. What if we don’t know the answers to someone’s questions? What if our words falter or we feel unprepared? Yet, Jesus reminds us in this passage that we don’t have to rely on our own strength or eloquence. The Holy Spirit is our guide, empowering us when we step out in faith to share the gospel.

God doesn’t require perfection in our speech or vast knowledge of theology—He requires willingness. When Jesus sent out His disciples, most of them were ordinary people with no formal religious training. Their ability to share the good news came not from their own qualifications but from the Spirit working through them. The same is true for us today.

Everyday moments provide opportunities to share the love and hope we’ve found in Christ. Whether you’re speaking to a neighbor, sitting with a friend over coffee, or riding in the car with a coworker, God can use your life and your words to point others toward Him. Remember, it’s not about having all the right answers; it’s about showing others who Jesus is through your story of grace and transformation.

When doubts creep in, hold fast to the promise in Luke 12:11-12: the Holy Spirit will equip you with what to say. Our task is to walk in obedience, trusting that God will provide what’s needed in the moment.

Let us Pray.

Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of your Spirit, who equips us to share your truth with others. Help us to trust in your strength rather than our own and to see the opportunities before us to bring your light into a dark world. Use our lives, Lord, as a witness to your great love and salvation. May our words and actions always glorify you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
