As political tensions rise across the United States, Rev Franklin Graham is urging Americans to take part in a nationwide “time of prayer and repentance.” Amid ongoing social unrest, Graham expressed concern over the nation’s future, stating, “our nation is in trouble.”

Graham, who leads the Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, shared his call to action on social media. He encouraged people to pause for prayer this Wednesday at noon ET.

Addressing the current climate, Graham, son of the renowned evangelist Billy Graham, emphasized the gravity of the nation’s issues. He questioned, “If you think our nation is in trouble now, just wait,” and pointed to societal problems such as “hate, anger, crime, drugs, and just sheer hopelessness.”

Graham believes that turning back to religious principles could be a solution. He remarked, “As a nation, our sins are so great. We have increasingly turned our backs on God and His commands, embracing godless secularism. We need to ask His forgiveness and seek His face.”

In light of protests following the shooting of Renee Good by an ICE agent, Graham called for prayers for both leadership and peace. He warned of those who “would like to destroy this great country” and urged that their plans be “brought into confusion.”

Highlighting the power of collective prayer, Graham wrote, “Millions of people remembering our sins and asking for forgiveness, repenting and seeking His face will make a difference,” as he reiterated the need for communal prayer on Wednesday.

Just days before, Graham had made statements about national protests against immigration enforcement, attributing them to “the radical socialist left.” He noted the extreme nature of chants like “Save a life, kill ICE!” and warnings of potential violence against officials.

In response to the shooting incident involving Renee Good, which occurred in Minneapolis, Graham shared his perspective. The administration defended the action as self-defense, while critics argued it was excessive force.

Graham expressed condolences, stating, “It is tragic that Renee Good was killed in Minneapolis yesterday. Pray for her family and loved ones.” He advised compliance with law enforcement, emphasizing the importance of legal recourse rather than confrontation.
