In a remarkable display of community spirit, volunteers across New Jersey have come together to support a massive charitable initiative. This holiday season, Liquid Church, a prominent multisite megachurch, has packed over 1 million meals to aid those in need worldwide.

The extensive effort, part of the church’s “Christmas Outreach” event, saw approximately 1.2 million meals assembled over the weekend. This initiative spanned all campuses of the non-denominational church.

Brooke Stempert, Communications Manager at Liquid Church, shared insights with The Christian Post, stating the event enlisted over 6,000 volunteers. Their collaboration was made possible through a partnership with Rise Against Hunger.

“We simply couldn’t have done this without an army of incredible volunteers. We have seen an incredible response to our annual Christmas Outreach from the church community and our local communities across New Jersey,” said Stempert.

According to Stempert, the atmosphere was charged with “incredible energy” as volunteers eagerly participated in the initiative. The meals are destined for Zambia, further supporting Liquid Church’s ongoing Clean Water Cause project.

“Christmas is a season of giving and generosity, and we hope that the volunteers who served at our Christmas Outreach feel a sense of excitement and pride to be a part of this,” said Stempert. “Alone, we may not be able to do much; but together, we can accomplish [an] incredible amount. Serving others is what the Christmas season is all about.”

The number of meals packed this year marked a new record for Liquid Church’s annual Christmas charity event, surpassing last year’s achievement of approximately 1 million meals. Founded in 2007 by Pastor Tim Lucas, Liquid Church emerged from a group of young Christians meeting in a basement.

Liquid Church emphasizes the values of grace, authenticity, and service. According to its website, the church prioritizes communicating biblical truths in modern and relevant ways.
