In anticipation of the 2026 midterm elections, a pro-life organization is gearing up with a substantial financial commitment, aiming to influence control of Congress. Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America has unveiled plans to allocate $80 million towards supporting pro-life candidates in these crucial elections.

The upcoming elections will see voters from 35 states casting their votes for a U.S. senator, with all 435 House of Representatives seats also up for grabs. The pro-life group’s strategy involves reaching out to 10.5 million pro-life voters nationwide, utilizing methods such as canvassing, digital advertising, and early voting campaigns.

Key states identified for targeted efforts include Iowa, Georgia, Michigan, and North Carolina. Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, alongside its Women Speak Out PAC, intends to conduct 4.5 million home visits in battleground states and deploy student volunteers to a dozen competitive House districts.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of SBA Pro-Life America, emphasized the necessity of pro-life support for Republican success, stating, “Republicans simply cannot win without their pro-life base, especially in midterm elections when overall turnout drops.” She also pointed out the changing stance of the Democratic Party on abortion, contrasting it with past positions.

The advocacy group has previously earmarked funds targeting specific Democratic candidates and seats. This includes $4.5 million each to challenge Sen. Jon Ossoff in Georgia, flip Michigan’s open Senate seat, and contest Roy Cooper’s expected candidacy in North Carolina.

This announcement reflects SBA Pro-Life America’s ongoing commitment to shaping the political landscape in favor of pro-life policies. The strategic allocation of resources comes at a time when Democrats have shown strong performance in recent elections, gaining gubernatorial victories and favorable redistricting outcomes.

Polls compiled by RealClearPolitics indicate a Democratic lead by 4.5 points when voters were asked which party they wanted to control Congress. After the 2024 elections, the Republican Party held a slim majority in the House with 220 seats compared to Democrats’ 215 seats.

The Senate sees Republicans holding 53 seats, requiring Democrats to win a minimum of four Republican-held seats to gain control. The Republicans are defending seats predominantly in states that favored President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

Conversely, Democrats face the challenge of defending two Senate seats in states Trump carried: Georgia and Michigan. The fluctuating political landscape underscores the importance of these elections in determining the future balance of power in Congress.
