A tragic event over the weekend led to the deaths of Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife, an incident currently under investigation as a homicide. Their son, Nick, aged 32, has been taken into custody regarding the case.

Known for his steadfast support of the Democratic Party, Reiner also gained attention as an outspoken critic of former President Trump.

In a Monday morning post on Truth Social, Trump commented, “A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.”

Trump further remarked on Reiner’s “raging obsession” with him, suggesting that Reiner’s paranoia intensified as Trump’s administration achieved what he described as unprecedented success, ushering in “the Golden Age of America.”

The post concluded with a note of condolence: “May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”

Since news of the couple’s death surfaced late Sunday night, tributes have flooded in, including a notable expression from former President Barack Obama. He reflected on Reiner’s work, stating that “beneath all of the stories he produced was a deep belief in the goodness of people – and a lifelong commitment to putting that belief into action.”

The tragic discovery was made by the Los Angeles Fire Department, which received a call for medical assistance around 3:40 p.m. local time on Sunday. The responders found the bodies of a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman in the couple’s residence. Reiner turned 78 in March.
