What started as an ordinary shopping trip turned into an unexpected moment of faith when customers at a Sam’s Club spontaneously joined together in worship. As shoppers stood in a lengthy checkout line, they transformed the retail space into a place of praise, singing together in celebration of their shared faith.

The impromptu worship session featured customers singing “My God Is Awesome,” their voices uniting in harmony despite being complete strangers just moments before. The heartwarming scene demonstrated how faith can bring people together in the most unexpected places.

The video went on to accumulate an impressive 14 million views, touching hearts across social media platforms.

The shoppers sang the powerful lyrics together while waiting in the grocery store line:

My God is awesome
Heals me when I’m broken
Gives strength where I’ve been weakened
Forever he will reign
My God is awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome

My God is awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome

The song’s creator and his ministry

The gospel song that inspired this retail worship session was composed by Charles C. Jenkins II, an accomplished American gospel musician. Jenkins launched his musical journey in 2012 with “The Best Of Both Worlds,” an album that Billboard magazine recognized as his breakthrough release.

Beyond his musical accomplishments, Jenkins holds degrees from both Moody Bible Institute and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He currently leads Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago as its pastor, combining his ministerial calling with his musical talents.
