What started as a peaceful afternoon by the pool nearly turned into tragedy when a massive tree unexpectedly toppled toward a sunbathing mother. Thanks to her vigilant son’s warning, she managed to escape with only seconds to spare in a heart-stopping incident captured on video.
The family had decided to take advantage of beautiful weather by spending time at their backyard pool. While the two young boys splashed and played in the water, their mother settled into a pool chair beneath a large tree, relaxing with a book as she soaked up the sun.
The peaceful scene took a dramatic turn when one of the children spotted something alarming. He noticed the tree beginning to topple and immediately tried to alert his mother. Unfortunately, she was too absorbed in her reading to hear his initial warning calls.
A narrow escape
The situation became critical when a loud crack echoed through the yard as the tree split near its base. This sound finally caught the mother’s attention, prompting her to look up and realize the imminent danger. She sprang from her chair and ran for safety, escaping by mere inches as the massive tree crashed down exactly where she had been sitting moments before.
The mother continued running until she reached the safety of her back door. The entire incident unfolded so rapidly that the boys remained in the pool, unable to react before the tree had already fallen.
“Are you okay?” one of the boys asked.
