In the heart of Rome, a dramatic rescue effort is underway after a medieval tower partially collapsed, trapping a worker beneath its rubble. The incident, which took place just before noon local time, has drawn significant attention due to its proximity to iconic landmarks such as the Colosseum and the Roman Forum.
Firefighters are laboring tirelessly to free the trapped individual, employing specialized machinery and a tube system to remove debris. The collapse occurred while five workers were inside the tower, four of whom managed to escape with the assistance of emergency responders. Among them, one worker remains hospitalized in serious condition.
