Jeanette and Santiago Garza had spent more than a decade hoping to become parents. After years of struggling with infertility, they made the decision to open their hearts and home to children in need through the foster care system, welcoming two young brothers named Santiago and Andres into their lives.

Doctors informed Jeanette that she was thirty-six weeks pregnant—a shocking revelation after thirteen years of being unable to conceive. “I kept saying, ‘There’s no way.’ It would be a miracle from God,” Jeanette said.
The joyful news quickly became urgent when Jeanette’s blood pressure began to spike. Medical staff made the decision to perform an emergency cesarean section just four days after the initial discovery. The couple hadn’t even had time to find out whether they were expecting a boy or girl before the delivery.
When physicians informed Jeanette that she had given birth to a son, she wept with happiness. The newborn, whom they named Diego, required twenty-six days of care in the neonatal unit before he could join his two new brothers at home.
