Fellowship of Christian Athletes Unveils New Digital Hub for Discipleship
In an era where digital interaction is paramount, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) introduces an innovative app to consolidate its ministry resources into a single accessible platform. This move, attracting over 28,000 users in its first month, signifies a strategic shift for the organization.
The FCA Resources Web App launched recently to centralize the diverse offerings of the Christian youth organization. This initiative is described by an FCA spokesperson as “part of a broader ministry shift,” aiming not just to upgrade technology but to meet the needs of its community digitally.
“The timing reflects our goal to meet coaches, athletes, staff and volunteers where they already are — on their devices,” the spokesperson noted. “With users spending over seven hours a day on screens, this mobile-first approach allows us to engage, equip and empower more effectively through digital discipleship tools.”
Historically, FCA’s online materials were dispersed across various platforms, lacking a centralized hub. The new app compiles Bibles, devotions, reading plans, and Huddle resources, ensuring a unified experience across all devices.
The app intends to centralize all discipleship content, offer interactive tools for small groups, and expand FCA’s global outreach by offering resources in multiple languages. The FCA reported impressive engagement stats from Oct. 15 to Nov. 11, logging 28,603 users, over 40,000 sessions, and 104,000 page views.
The FCA spokesperson expressed hopes that users will find “meaningful spiritual growth” through the app. “The app is designed to help coaches, athletes and volunteers deepen their relationship with Christ, strengthen their discipleship efforts and stay connected to FCA’s mission,” they elaborated.
The app’s launch aligns with FCA’s “Fields of Faith,” an annual multisite gathering in the United States. Since 2004, this event has brought together thousands of students, fostering spiritual decisions among youths on school athletic fields across several states.
